Asker returned to a project he began in 2009, where three-dimensional and typographic lettering integrate and blend into one another within the work. Over the years he has resumed this experimentation from time to time with his work, sometimes more evidently, sometimes less so. In this work typographic lettering is summarised in the essence of the outline, that is, only the borders of the letters stand out and intertwine with the 3D lettering, as if they were three-dimensional black cables. The composition is played out along the diagonals of the letter K, so forming a central X accentuated by the colours and cuts in the background and on the letters themselves. Giving dynamism to the work are two elements recurring in the artist’s stylistic production: sinuous elements (the “leaves”) and cuneiform elements.
